Rotary Supporting Young People

Building the Potential of Llandudno's Young People

Young family Members litter picking decided to make a point

Working with young people is key to spreading the Community work of Rotary. It is an opportunity to listen to young people’s concerns and empower them to act for the good of the environment and citizens they live among.

Recently, in the local area young people have taken part and at times led projects under the name of Rotary as follows:

  • Mental health awareness in years 8 and 9.
    • Remove the stigma of mental health and develop an open communication. Don’t suffer in silence, and share with adults and peers.

  • Litter clean up on Conwy Morfa beach.
    • Bags of litter collected and sorted for recycling. Group of Ysgol Aberconwy children decided to lead and manage this clean up operation. Keep the environment and the wildlife safe was their major drive.

  • Planting wild flowers in the local community areas.
    • Encouraging the growth spread of natural wild species, support insects and bees and improve the area for the local community.

  •
  • Busking to build confidence.
    • Singing or playing an instrument an opportunity to engage with the general public and build on key skills of presentation.

  • Training secondary school children in CPR and AED management to train the remainder of the school.

  • Baking cakes to raise money for our Community projects.
    • Developing culinary skills and supporting our fundraising.

  • Bob Mills music achievement award.
    • Providing valuable monetary support for aspiring young musicians.
