The Rotary Club of Selkirk
Annual Burns Supper
Over 60 members and guests enjoyed the annual celebration to Robert Burns, in the County Hotel on Wednesday night, when Kevin Turnbull piped in the Haggis and Jim Thomson gave an excellent address.
Following a superb meal, Ian Fallas from Lauder, started the nights entertainment with and excellent toast to the Immortal Memory of Robert Burns, this was followed by the Toast to the Lassies give by Hawick's own Ian Landles, who had the company in fits of laughter with his special brand of humour. Though a hard act to follow the clubs' Edith Scott managed a witty reply.
The evenings entertainment was provided by Tommy Knox and Jimmy Gibb who delighted the audience with their choice of songs.
In his closing remarks President Jim McPherson thanked all who had attended, especially the couple from Australia, and wished everyone a safe journey home.
