A mild and dry Boxing day morning led to a fantastic crowd turning out for this year's Boxing Day festivities on Denbigh's high street.
The morning's events started off with a drive through of 25 vintage tractors and a group of five Landrovers (these being mainly series one models, as Landrover are this year celebrating 70 years of production).
Following the tractor drive through, we all experienced a wonderful site as over 100 horses and riders of the Flint & Denbigh Hunt arrived for their annual top of town meet and Stirrup Cup.
The track was then set up for the morning's main attraction - the All-Wales Championship Barrel Rolling Competition, with again a full entry of competitors, including the junior and senior boys and girls races. List of winners as follows:
Junior Girls - Ffion Jones
Junir Boys - Alfie Hoyles
Senior Boys - Gwion Williams
Mens Championship - Gareth Owen
Mens Runner-up - Gary Madoc-Jones
Ladies Championship - Tina Hoyles
Ladies Runner-up - Eluned Evans
To finish off the morning, the Rotary Club of Denbigh's Grand Christmas Raffle was drawn- winners as follows:
1st Prize - Adam Jones (Denbigh)
2nd Prize - Helen Marson (Cirencester)
3rd Prize - Dilwyn Roberts (Denbigh)
The Rotary Club of Denbigh would like to thank all who attended and supported the morning's activities and all who supported the Christmas raffle. Thank you to John Sellers, Dilwyn Pierce and Emyr Thomas for their very valued comentry contributions throughout the morning, and to special guests the Mayor of Denbigh, Catherine Jones and local celebrity Sarah Louise Davies for their attendance.
Special thanks to all sponsors of this year's event.
