Annual Chester Raft Race

With expert welding, sophisticated engineering, and various parts supplied from Dilwyn's treasure trove of various machinery spare parts, we managed to build an entirely new raft for this year's event.

Paddled by a crew of eight, this year's team succeeded in obtaining 4th place out of a field of 28 competitive rafts with a time of 11 minutes, 15 seconds - a very much improved placing to last year's 11th position.

Many thanks go to Billy (the welder) and Colin (the lathe man) for their outstanding work in putting the raft together and of course to the peddling team of Hywel, Walter, Robin, Dilwyn, Gareth R, Chris, Nigel and Kevin - congratulations to you all.

Gyda weldio arbenigol, peirianneg soffistigedig, ac amrywiol rannau a gyflenwyd o drysor Dilwyn o wahanol ddarnau sbâr o beiriannau, llwyddwyd i adeiladu rafft hollol newydd ar gyfer y digwyddiad yma eleni.

Yn cael ei phweru gan griw o wyth, llwyddodd tîm eleni i gael y 4ydd safle allan o 28 o rafftau cystadleuol, gydag amser o 11 munud, 15 eiliad – gosodiad dipyn gwell na safle 11eg llynedd.
