Some years ago at a Rotary meeting it was suggested that the Denbigh Club might like to have an evening of entertainment by competitors taking part in the Llangollen Eisteddfod. Nothing came of it until last year when groups staying at Myddelton College, Denbigh agreed to take part In a concert to raise funds for the Bursary fund that the Eisteddfod have. This was a huge success so it was decided to put on another concert at the college this year with groups staying at the school. Initially, after consulting with John Gambles from the Eisteddfod, it was agreed that five of the groups would take part. Regrettably, problems with visas suggested that we might be reduced to three groups and the College agreed that some of their students would also take part. Problems continued with visas and it looked possible that the evening would have to be cancelled. Fortunately these were resolved and the evening was planned to go ahead with five groups together with the College Students.
Unfortunately, two of the re-scheduled 5 choirs were unable to attend, but despite this setback the evening went off to a resounding success, raising much needed funds for the bursary.
Thank you Gwilym and his team for organising the event.
