Following a request by St Kentigern Hospice to collect used Christmas trees as part of an wide initiative, nine brave club members met at 9.00 am at St Kentigern for bacon butties! St Kentigern had arranged the collections, following which the trees were to be taken to a holding skip in Bodelwyddan. where soon they will be used to help slow down the erosion of the sand dunes at Talacre beach.
Although there were a total of 270 trees to be collected over a period of three days, the Denbigh Rotary team completed their allocation of collections on the first day - well done.
People who donated their Christmas trees also gave a donation to St Kentigern, so a very worthwhile thing to do on a cold and windy Friday morning. Thanks to Hywel for organising the Rotary team.
