RIBI Golf Championship

In another page  you will have read about our golfing heroes, Eric and Gwilym, who became District 1180 golf champions.

They have now taken part in the Rotary GB&I Finals at the Leicestershire Golf course.  The format changed for this event, no longer match play, but a team event with the scores of two out of three players to count.  John Lewis of the Rotary Club of Ruthin joined Eric and Gwilym.  Unfortunately neither Eric nor Gwilym could replicate the standard of golf previously played.  The course was a long one, which put them at a disadvantage, as they could not always reach the greens in the required score. 

Nevertheless they managed to come 9^th out of twenty teams and were pleased with their achievements.  The Tamworth club,who were also the 2013 champions, won the competition. 

I am sure that they will go even better next year.
