Young Musician Club Heat November 2013

Once again we were privileged to be entertained to an evening of music by seven young people from Denbigh High School and St Brigid's School.  

Three vocalists took part, Emily Bolwell of St Brigid's School. Zara Briody-Hughes and Magi Davies of Denbigh High School.  The judges, Adele Thomas and Russell Pierce, declared that Magi was the winner.  Magi's three songs were 'Consider Yourself' from Oliver, 'Love quickly is pall'd' (Henry Purcell) and 'The Wings of a Gull', an English folksong.  

Four instrumentalists competed  and Jamie Owen of Denbigh High School playing the piano was the winner.  Jamie's pieces were 'By Crystal Stream' and Blue Sky Blues' from Jazz Jazz Jazz.  The other three competitors were Beth Johnson (piano) and Emily Reid (flute) of St Brigid's school and Joseph Murray (piano) of Denbigh High School.

Jamie and Magi now go on to the District final at Poulton Hall, Bebington,Wirral on February 1st 2014.
