Club Heat of the Young Chef Competition November 2013
The first of the Youth Service competitions for 2013-2014 was the Young Chef competition held in Denbigh High School on November 6th 2013.
This year there were seven competitors from Denbigh High School - Ysgol Uwchradd Dinbych, St Brigid's School, Denbigh and Ysgol Glan Clwyd in St Asaph.
The young chefs were
- Denbigh High School: Daniel Dallolio, Faye Evans, Elizabeth Ward
- St Brigid's School: Cameron Ackroyd, Tom Wood
- Ysgol Glan Clwyd: Liam Balmer, Cadi Mars Jones
The judges, Joe Lynche and Leigh O'Brien of Com Amici Restaurant in Denbigh together with club Youth Service Chairman Alwyn Thomas had a difficult task in deciding on a winner.
Each competitor had to prepare a meal of two courses and the winner was Cadi Mars Jones for her meal of fillet steak followed by a fatless sponge with creme fraiche and raspberries. Cadi will now represent the club at the District 1180 Young Chef final in Deeside College on February 28th.
