On Friday November 16th 2012, the International committee held a Cheese and Wine event to raise funds for the charity 'Roll Out the Barrel'. This charity hopes to provide simple strong tyred push/pull 30 or 50 litre capacity Roll-Along Water Barrels with a handle to enable women and girls to obtain water without the need to carry heavy loads of water weighing up to 30 kilos by hand, on their backs or on their heads and often over long distances.
The event took place in Chairman John's home in Llanrhaeadr where there was a splendid buffet. Of course there was a raffle and the main prize was a large and well stocked Christmas hamper assembled by John's wife Carol and won by Chris. a work colleque of John Davies who won the hamper last year!
As a club we are grateful to John and Carol for opening up their home to us, to sponsors Milk Link and Henllan Bread, to Robin Jones who entertained us with songs and guitar solos and to all who turned up for their fellowship and their money.
