Young Chef Competition October 2012

The Young Chef  competition was held on October 17th 2012 at Denbigh High School.  Four competitors  took part, two from Denbigh High School and two from St Brigid's School, Denbigh.  For the club heat, the young chef's had to prepare a two course meal with either a starter or a dessert with the main meal.

The winner, who will now go on to the district final at Deeside College in February 2013, was Lydia Jones of Year 10 at Denbigh High School.

The menu Lydia chose  was - 

Main Meal:  Home made beef meat balls with a delicate tomato and vegetable sauce served on a bed of spaghetti.

Dessert: Individual banoffe pies toped with delicious chocolate flakes

The judges were Mr. Joe Lynche of Con Amici Restaurant in Denbigh and Rotarian Alwyn Thomas.  Both praised all the competitors and urged them to continue with their cooking.
