The clay pigeon shoot was a first for this club and although some members are very good at this, most of us had either never been to a shoot or only very rarely.
Most gathered at 5pm on Tuesday September 18th 2012 at Berth Bach farm near the village of Trefnant and after instruction we were ready to have a go.
We had 18 shots from three cages with varying degrees of difficulty and the scores ranged from twelve down to four. Not bad!
The final shoot was a competition and the winning Rotarian was somebody who had never taken part before. Talent or luck? We might find out if we do this again!
On a night of very heavy showers we were lucky in that the rain only interrupted once and we retreated into a animal carrying trailer for shelter.
All of this gave us an appetite and when the fish and chips arrived from the fish and chips shop in Trefnant we all sat in a barn and tucked in into what was universally agreed as the best fish and chips ever!
The shoot was organised by our Foundation Committee and any profit from this or a future shoot will be for The Rotary Foundation.
