Fundraising - bookstand
Donated books loaned - for a small cost - to hotel guests. Money goes towards helping a variety of causes, mainly local.
One of our members used to manage the promotional activities for a hotel in North Wales and whilst there, created a 'book sale/loan' system for hotel guests.
Members and friends donated books, which were placed on a stand in the hotel. An 'honesty box' system allows guests to make a small donation for loan or purchase of a book during their stay. When they've finished reading, the book is often returned for re-loan.
This project has raised several thousand pounds over the last few years and we are grateful to the hotel for continuing the scheme even though our member no longer works there.
If you have a number of books you would like to donate, and live within a few miles of Conwy we would be glad to come and collect them. Just ring 07753 688617. We need adult paperbacks with a good story in good condition.
