CORONATION AFTERNOON TEA

President Annette, concerned that many would be watching the Coronation on their own, galvanised the Club into arranging an Afternoon Tea so that all may celebrate together.  Very much in conjunction with The Inner Wheel Club of Wallasey, some 90 guests and friends gathered at Claremount Methodist Church Hall for an afternoon of fun and fellowship (including one surprise ‘guest’!).  

Many of our guests had challenges in life, some were lonely, some had health issues so various members drove to collect our guests while the volunteer kitchen staff were busy preparing a truly excellent ‘Tea’ with sandwiches, scones & cream, cakes aplenty, served on tiered stands, as well as tea served in fine china.

Patriotic background music and video during the Tea, gave way to a fun quiz, Bingo and a Singalong led from the piano (words on the screen to help) and a free prize draw to conclude.  All went home with a slice of the special cake, souvenir pen, pencils, coaster and uplifted hearts.
