Samantha Hamilton will be telling us something of this 'trade' that is happening now and on our doorstep.
Sam grew up in Gateshead in the North East of England and worked in retail until entering William Booth College in 2010 to train to become a Minister of Religion for The Salvation Army. She was ordained in 2012 and sent to Bootle in Merseyside. She also met her husband Jonathan (President Elect of Heswall Rotary) in 2010 and married in 2012. In her years of ministry she has run two churches (along with Jonathan), a pioneer expression and have been chaplain in three life houses (hostel). There are many strands of service and ministry within the Salvation Army one of which is work in anti-human trafficking. During their time in Bootle they attended training sessions and information sessions to learn more about Human trafficking. Although it is not a major part of their role, they sometimes have to be involved. One aspect of their role is to stand up for Social Justice and be aware and help others to become more aware of some the issues affecting our society - hence her visit to us today.
