Five pupils from Dalziel High School visited the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw to show off their public speaking skills. Kareen Lawrie, the Principal Teacher of English, introduced each of the five pupils.

First up was third year pupil Andrew Tweedie who spoke on his love of sports but more importantly on the quality of the rolls on sausage he ate after each game or race he participated in.

Next, was another third year pupil Nathan Hamilton who spoke of the perils of the video games on the Intranet.

Fraser Dickson gave a humours talk on Christmas starting earlier and earlier each year and suggested to the First Minister that Christmas should not start until after St. Andrews Day which received wide agreement from the members.

Fourth year pupil Orla Chambers spoke on the subject of Embarrassment and gave an account of the many instances where she had found herself in embarrassing situations.

The final pupil was Chris Graham from sixth year who spoke of the perils of Scottish Confectionary with adult population and he came with a number of novel ideas to help improve some of the problems.

Another evening of super entertainment from the young people of the area.
