Rotary Young Golfer Competition

"On Monday 30th July the Longniddry Rotary Club heat of the District Rotary

Young Golfer competition took place at Longniddry Golf Club.  Unfortunately

only two of the local golf clubs took part with Ben Stirling and James Fox

representing Kilspindie Golf Club in the scratch and handicap sections

respectively against Chris and Daniel Algeo representing Longniddry Golf

Club.

The boys tee'd off in brilliant sunshine - which persisted most of the time,

with only a couple of showers to dampen their spirits.  At the end of the

day - following some excellent golf - Chris beat Ben by 1 stroke to win our

scratch prize, while James managed to overcome Daniel by 4 strokes to win

the handicap section.

"So Chris and James should go forward to represent Longniddry Rotary Club at

the District Finals to be held at Whitekirk Golf Club on Wednesday 8th

August. However unfortunately Chris is playing in a competition at St

Andrews that day - we wish him well in that - and James and Daniel are

unavailable, so Ben will play as our sole representative.  We look forward

to a good performance from him at Whitekirk."
