We are starting to get back to normal now that the Pandemic is, we hope, waning. Breakfast meeetings are now every other week on the first and third Friday. We also have coffee meetings at Joe's Cafe
Rotary is well known for playing an active part in the worldwide End Polio Now campaign over many decades and Polio has now almost been eradicated, we are so proud of this.
We are very informal and our normal routine is to meet regularly for breakfast replaced every few weeks with a coffee meetup . At breakfasts over the month we have speakers, one meeting to discuss the club's business plus projects. And one meeting that has no specific focus other than to just enjoy breakfast with our friends. Meetings start early (hence our name Sunrise) 7.45 - 9:00am - It's not everyone's cup of tea but some like an early start to their day and it's a really good breakfast! Our club has a fairly even mix and men and women including five couples.
Of course at this time we are having to do things differently like all clubs, groups and organisations but we have adapted and have still made a difference where it matters - our Christmas fundraising enabled us to donate to seven local charities, including the Pilgrims Hospice, Kent Association for the BLind and the Salvation Army in addition to Coronavirus support . We also supported Oasis Womens' refuge with Christmas hampers.
So, if you want to know more come and meet us when it's safe to do so or get in touch for a chat.
We meet on Fridays at 07:30
