Tonight we have a speaker from the Cumbria Dark Skies Campaign. Some members have expressed an interest in this and tonight we have the opportunity to learn all about it.

Tue 28th May 2019 Visit to Brackenthwaite Farm

Tonight we will visit Brackenthwaite Farm at Wilton where Terry will show us around his facility. We will then return to the Red Admiral for a meal.

Tue 21st May 2019 The Samaritans of West Cumbria

We are pleased to welcome a speaker tonight from our local Samaritans who will inform us on the work of the organisation and explain how we could help.

Several members will be away on the Alan Hurst Walk tonight so I have planned a relaxing evening for members to enjoy a nice meal and good fellowship.

We will be walking a section of Offa's Dyke from Knighton to Montgomery in aid of the President's chosen charity.

Tue 7th May 2019 Stang Ends Farm visit

Tonight we will be meeting at Stang Ends Farm near Gosforth, where a National Trust Officer will show us around and talk about the work of the NT locally. Then it will be back to the Red Admiral for a meal at the usual time of 19:30.

This will be a business meeting with the main topic being the Rotating Wheels event in July.

Tue 23rd April 2019 St Georges Night

This year our regular st Georges Night celebration coincides with the actual day. Rotarian David Culley will be providing the entertainment and he has advised us to "sharpen our pencils and our minds" so I suspect a quiz might be involved?

Tue 16th April 2019 Mayfield School Visit

We are fortunate to have been invited to visit Mayfield School at it's new premises (next to St Benedicts). Headteacher Gillian Temple will show us around the new facility and then we return to the Red Admiral for a meal at approximately 19:45.

This Saturday is our annual pensioners party at Calderbridge Village Hall. We hope for a good turnout of club members to volunteer their services, if you have any queries or ideas, please contact David Gray.

Tonight we will welcome back our speakers who used to work in the Manchester Fire Service to talk to us about their first hand experience managing the immediate aftermath of a gas explosion.

Tue 12th February 2019 A meal at West Lakes College

This will be a night away from home to the ever popular West Lakes College Catering School at Lillyhall. The cost is a little higher than our usual meal and will require a £5 pp deposit which I will ask you for over the next couple of weeks.
