Sat 25th June 2011 Kilo of Cash

An annual event where coins are collected on Erdington High Street to see if they would weigh a kilo. A total of £231 was collected. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

An important date to celebrate 20 years since the Rotary Club of Wylde Green was formed. A Grand BBQ was held at Wishaw Country Sports Centre, with music by Ian Casey.

Wed 8th June 2011 Kids Out

A nationwide Rotary event - the largest day out for disadvantaged children and young people in the UK. The Club took young people to Drayton Manor Park from Wilson Stuart School in Erdington.

A highly popular event at Walmley Golf Club. This year it raised £1800 with £300 being made by way of donations to Troop Aid.

The Club members have again helped with the marshalling of the well known Midlands event that raised in total over £414,000 for Birmingham Children's Hospital.

The Easter bunnies collected £200 on Erdington High Street. Thank you to everyone who supported the event.

The Club presented a cheque for £1000 to St Giles in memory of Tony Parr. His wife, Diane, had requested that donations in lieu of flowers be split between St Giles Hospice and Parkinson's UK.

Support has been provided for the Erdington Handicapped Children's Club's Christmas party and ongoing running costs for the past 19 years with funds raised from local street collections.

The evening's quiz was won by Wylde Green, who go forward to the next round where they will meet the winners of Erdington vs Sutton Coldfield.

This year's Conference was held at the Riviera International Conference Centre in Torquay. The theme for the ball was 'James Bond'. Club members manned a stand for Troop Aid, the charity that supports our injured troops.

Honorary Rotarian Amy Leigh completed her 6824 miles walk around mainland Great Britain when she arrived at Guys Hospital in London. She raised funds for Kidney Research in memory of her late brother, Dean. Well done Amy!
