2024 Disability Games

Events:

  • Swimming
  • Archery
  • Basketball Hoop Shooting
  • Weightlifting
  • New Age Kurling
  • Boccia
  • Table Tennis
  • Darts
  • Wheelchair Slalom
  • Wheelchair racing

Events are categorised into junior and senior (16 + on day of games), and by gender in some cases, whilst some are open.

The games are entirely amateur for fun - there is no grading.

Competitors and carers lunch and water supplied. Rotarians and other volunteers provide own. Every competitor gets a tee shirt and a medallion, and every winner gets a trophy.

Competition is individual, not team.

Rotary Clubs are encouraged to bring groups from their local area by contacting sports groups including disabled ones, adult groups, specialist schools etc.

The 2024 District 1070 Disability Games take place on 7th April 2024 at Ratcliffe College, Ratcliffe on the Wreake. Thank you if your club is already involved in bringing competitors, or is running an event, or has volunteered in other ways.

If you haven’t previously been involved, and would like to put a team together, or help in any other way, please don’t hesitate to contact me – email and mobile shown below. It is much easier than you might think to contact local sports clubs, disability groups, special needs schools, and other organizations. They are very approachable, keen to take part, and usually quick to respond.

Registration starts at 08.30 am for a 10.00 am start.

Completed Entry Forms and Junior Competitor Consent Forms should be returned (by post or email) to Chris Trivett at the Games Organising Group.
