Young Person's Video Competition

Youth Services Video Competition.

Bexhill Rotary club’s Life in Lockdown video competition gave those aged 5 – 11 and 12 – 16 years of age the opportunity to use their creativity to make a video about their lockdown life – and they didn’t disappoint.

The 5 – 11 age group winner, Zachary Haddock, told us of the mixed emotions he felt, pleasure that he did not have to go to school but sadness at missing his friends. When not home schooling he used his time to learn new skills, including baking and became a dab hand at solving Rubik’s Cube.

Jed Bates, the 12 – 16 year age group winner took a different approach with his video giving it a distinct air of surrealism in the images he choose and the method of presentation. His video conveyed a real sense of claustrophobia and fully lived up to its title of ‘confined’.

Each won a £30.00 Amazon gift voucher. President Stephen White said “The support of local young people is an important focus of our work. Many of our other youth activities had to go on hold over the past year so we are very pleased with the response to this competition.”
