SWIMATHON!! 2008

Sat, Nov 22nd 2008 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The recently opened Freeman’s Quay Leisure Centre in Durham City hosted its first ever Charity Swimathon during the weekend of Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 November 2008.

This exciting partnership event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Durham and City of Durham Council was a great success.

The Mayor of Durham, Councillor Grenville Holland, and the President of the Rotary Club of Durham, Rtn. Eric Colling thank everyone who took part for making it such a success - and the staff of the Freeman's Quay Leisure Centre for providing so much assistance.
The picture above shows the Mayor and Mayoress with President Eric, other members of the Rotary Club, the cricketers who "opened" the Swimathon and the Freeman's Quay manager.

(How about that footwear?)
