The Norman Seddon Award 2019

Matthew Kavanagh - Winner of The Norman seddon Award 2019

In September 2008, members of the Rotary Club of Southport Links were saddened when their president, Norman Seddon passed away. Norman had spent his life working as an engineer, and the latter part running a plastics moulding company in Skelmersdale, so the members felt it appropriate to use monies raised in his memory to fund an award at Southport College for the most promising Engineering Student nominated by the college staff. The winner is presented with the Norman Seddon Award trophy, and a cash sum of £500 to help with the cost of their studies. The 11th winner is Matthew Kavanagh, who was presented with his prizes this month. He is pictured with Rotarians John Tarpey and John Heddon at the presentation, and also with staff members of Southport College.
