RCPR makes Scannappeal Donation for 2018

The Rotary Club of Princes Risborough were one of 12 local organisations who supported Scannappeal’s project for the Dermatology department.  Three dermoscopic cameras were purchased, one for each hospital at Amersham, Stoke Mandeville and High Wycombe. This equipment has enabled a new non-invasive technique (dermoscopy) to help identify early signs of melanoma not usually visible to the naked eye, radically improving the detection of skin cancer.  Previously, clinicians could only compare ordinary clinical photographs, which are not so accurate, and early signs of skin cancer transformation could be missed.  RCPR President  Richard Stevenson is pictured with the donor acknowledgement plaque which will go on display in the Dermatology patient waiting area.
