Charity Quiz 2018

Fri, Nov 23rd 2018 at 6:30 pm - 10:30 pm

£1,500 raised for Swindon Womens Aid at the Club's annual Quiz and ploughmans supper

A closely fought contest between 16 teams at the Supermarine clubhouse. After 10 rounds of 10 questions each, plus an ongoing marathon round, there was not a lot between them at the finish.

Just 6 points separated the top 10 teams, and there were two vying for first place, both having scored 95 points.  Question-master Alan Fletcher had a tie-break question for them: "How long is the border between England and Scotland?".  Coming closest to the correct answer was the team named "The Good Earls and Co", so it was named the overall winner and awarded the first prize of a bottle of wine for each member.

Prizes were also awarded to the teams in the 2nd and 3rd positions.  The full scores:

The Quiz was organised jointly by the Rotary Club and the Inner Wheel Club of North Wiltshire to raise funds for Swindon Womens Aid.
