Youth Challenge at RWB Academy 30 September

Sun, Sep 30th 2018 at 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Thirteen teams of young people from local organisations faced a series of mental and physical challenges to win cash for their club. More details below.

Our joint RWB Rotary Clubs’ 5th Annual Youth Challenge was a fantastic, busy, and noisy day. Thirteen local youth organisations with teams of 6 youngsters ages 11-14, went head to head for a 1st prize of £500 and a 2nd prize of £25 - with every other Team that took part receiving a cheque for £50 towards their Club funds.

There was a great mix of 7 physical and mental challenges in the morning session ranging from 'flags of the world' to flying a paper plane loaded with cash.  This was followed by a provided lunch and then one final battle involving each team constructing a time limited "marble run".

This year we saw the RWB WBLETS team ( the junior element of RWB Light Operatic society) take 1st place and the RWB School of Dance 2nd place.

Grateful thanks to all those who came to participate, the youth leaders who voluntarily support these youth groups and who committed their Sunday; to RWB Academy for the use of their facilities;  and all from both RWB Rotary Clubs (including partners and family) who facilitated and funded this event.

Now, next year..............
