Barton-Le-Clay Rotary Unique Quiz raises funds for armed forces

Presentation to SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Families Association

In November the Club ran its very successful Gastro Quiz, with nearly 100 people competing for the top prize of bottles of champagne. Earlier in the year the Club had heard a stimulating and educational talk about SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen Families Association) from Neil Bloomfield from Bedfordshire Branch. As a result of this talk the Club decided to donate some of the funds raised by the Gastro Quiz to SSAFA. Just before Christmas a cheque for £400 was presented to Neil Bloomfield by Ann Greenhalgh. Ann is the wife of Rotarian Myles Greenhalgh and for 10 years she had been an outreach worker for SSAFA, the oldest of all the service charities founded in 1885, last year providing support to over 40,000 individuals.

Picture shows Ann Greenhalgh presenting the cheque to Neil Bloomfield.
