Handover Dinner June 2017

The Handover Dinner was held on Monday 26th June in the Winterfield Golf Club

Members, partners and guests of the Rotary Club of Dunbar met on Monday 26th June at the Winterfield Golf Club for the club’s annual Handover Dinner.  In attendance were also incoming District Governor Lindsay Craig and Assistant District Governor/District Governor Nominee, Jo Pawley.

After an excellent meal courtesy of the Golf Club catering staff, President Bob McKinnon welcomed members and guests and thanked all members of the club for their support during his term as president.  He presented the club’s trophy for the Rotary Member of the Year to Vennetta Evans in recognition of her immense contribution to the club throughout the year and, in particular, her running of the Charity Shop and help in the organisation of the International Women’s Day event.  Bob then passed the chain of office to incoming president, Andrew Brown.
Andrew thanked the club for honouring him as their new president and assured members he would work tirelessly on their behalf.  He thanked members of the club who had agreed to serve as Committee Conveners for the forthcoming year.  While Rotary is recognised for its good works, he reminded members that Rotary should also be fun and  a source of enjoyment.  Andrew then passed on the Vice-President’s chain of office to Graeme Darkes, President Elect.
District Governor, Lindsay Craig, thanked the club for inviting him to the Handover Dinner and assured the club of his support throughout the year.
