Being fair, showing respect to others and serving the community sum up the motto of the latest addition to the world of Rotary.  Twelve youngsters from Whittington C of E Primary School have come together to found one of the most junior branches of the world wide Rotary movement, called Rotakids.

Meeting to develop projects which might benefit their school, their local community and the world overseas, they have become one of the first junior clubs in the area. In addition, these young Rotarians learn the skills involved in managing their business meetings and communicating with others.

At their first May school assembly, the new Club’s President, Vice President and Secretary were presented with their office insignia by Steve Martin, the Rotary District’s member with responsibility for Rotakids.

All members also received certificates of membership and an award from Oswestry Rotary President Mike Griffiths for taking part in the recent Oswestry Rotary Club’s Annual Crocus Walk to support Rotary's push for the final eradication of Polio.
