Oswestry School Interact Presents Cheque to Teenage Cancer Charity

Mon, Apr 11th 2016 at 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

The Interact Club hand over the terrific results of their fundraising efforts for The Teenage Cancer Trust.

Interact President Tom Nicholas (R) and the Interact Club members (L-R) Dominic Fisher, Luc Janzynski and Secretary Will Gough presented a cheque for £1,418.19 to Charlotte Kendall, a representative of the Teenage Cancer Trust today.

This represented the terrific fundraising efforts of the Interact Club in supporting the work of the charity following their visit to school when they had given a presentation about the valuable work that the Trust carry out. Money had been raised by an Own Clothes day and a successful quiz evening.

Following the presentation, Charlotte gave a talk to the pupils about ways the Trust supports young people with cancer. 7 teenagers are diagnosed with cancer every day and the funds raised by the Oswestry School pupils will help to pay for either 71 hours of tailored support by a TCT Youth Support Coordinator, 55 hours of vital nursing care from one of their dedicated nurses who understands what it is like to have cancer or it could just buy 42 console games.

Well done to Tom and his team!
