West Berkshire Young Carers
Young Carers in West Berkshire, and there are many of them, spend most of their time caring for a loved one or at school. There is little time or opportunity in their young lives for chilling or having fun.
This year Newbury Rotary is working with the West Berkshire Young Carers Project to organise a couple of fun events for the youngsters.
A 10-pin Bowling Party has been organised for them on December 14th with over 30 young carers tripping off to Basingstoke for an evening of bowling and food.
In 2016 we are also organising a May Fun Day for them and their families that will be held in the grounds of Castle School. More information will follow as the plans unfold.
Tesco Extra customers showed the true generosity of Newbury on Wed 9th December donating £420 for West Berks Young Carers. We met so many people with their own stories to tell about young carers. It is a cause that touches many.
We are also seeking help and company sponsorship for the May Fun Day event. If you are able to support us with funding, resources or activities for the day please contact our Club President, Kath Nurse. She would love to hear from you.
