Peace Conference 2015

Sat, Feb 7th 2015 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

Booking is now open for the District Peace Conference “Make a Difference......be part of the
quiet revolution" to be held at Tynecastle High School on Saturday 7th February, 2015. 10.00 —
16.00.

Following the very successful inaugural Rotary Peace Conference held at the Scottish
Parliament building in May, the 2015 planning committee have created an equally inspirational
day for Rotarians and Young People.

We invite you to come and hear two exceptional speakers in the form of Dr. Azeem Ibrahim,
adviser to many world leaders, founder of The Scotland Institute and Karyn McCluskey,
Director of the Violence Reduction Unit.

We invite you to come and meet two Rotary Peace Fellows, Bertin Mboko from the Congo who is
our allocated District Peace Fellow from Bradford. Also lvana Ljubic, frm Canada. Also we are
pleased to host Mr David Maxwell a Primary Headteacher and Mr Anthony Tuffery a Secondary
Headteacher.

As at the first conference we will be receiving representation from Police Scotland and the
Scottish Government. One of the successes of last year was the breadth of delegates from all
walks of life and we encourage Rotarians to make invites to all interested parties.

The day will consist of interactive workshops developing conflict resolution skills through the
new Rotary Peace Programme. These workshops will be lead by the Peace Advocates of
schools and universities who have been facilitated by Rotarians of District 1020.

Hear the voice of young people through debate and presentations of Peace Projects they have
created in their schools.

We need you to REGISTER yourselves along with guests and young people online by
