Policy, protocols and processes for submitting an article or item to the digest

1. Overview

1.1 The 1010 Digest, first published on 15th October 2014, will be sent to all Rotarians in District 1010 on the 15th of each month via an email alerting members that the latest edition is available on the District 1010 Website. Club Secretaries should ensure that Rotarians without Internet access receive a printed copy; using black & white or grey scale being the cost effective option.

1.2 Any Rotarian can request to be withdrawn from the circulation list.

1.3 The 1010 Digest will be the main means whereby District Officials communicate with Rotarians. This will significantly reduce the need for individual officers writing separately to Rotarians and Clubs.

1.4 Contributors should reduce the potential for duplication of information going to Rotarians.  So, when you create a page on the District 1010 Website do not click on the "email to members" button if you will be submitting that page to The 1010 Digest.

1.5 Urgent information that cannot wait until the next issue of The 1010 Digest should still be sent directly to appropriate Rotarians.

1.6 The target date for information to be sent to The 1010 Digest Editor (John Minhinick) via j.minhinick@btinternet.com will be the 8th of each month. It is anticipated that members of committees should be able to send information directly to the editor with copy to the committee chairman.

1.7 The information will normally be published in The 1010 Digest as a brief note referencing, via hyperlink, to fuller information available on a website; District, RIBI, RIBI or other as appropriate.

1.8 While it is not possible to be completely prescriptive about the type of information for The 1010 Digest; there are some broad outlines in sections 2 to 5 below.
