The hampers with fine foods and wines were kindly donated by two of Thame's supermarkets: Waitrose and The Co-Operative. The stall was manned with the help of Thame Rotarians and members of Thame's Inner Wheel.
Just under 500 were raised on behalf of Thame-based Sharing Life Trust's Foodbank and Thame Rotary local charities of 2014-2015:
An Aquafilter - courtesy of the Rotary Club of Banbury - was also on display. Live demonstrations of this disaster relief tool took place.
The public had the chance to find out about the main events organised by the Rotary Club of Thame later in 2014: the Thame Swimathon on Sunday, 12 October andThame Art Show between 5 and 7 December.
The Thame Food Festival was also an opportunity for the Rotary Club of Thame to launch another project which involves collecting any unused foreign currency - notes and coins. The profits from selling the collected foreign currency are to be donated to Rotary's charities. The public is encouraged to donate their foreign currency by getting in touch with Linda Emery on 07805 229 556.
back The aim of this action group is to coordinate the fundraising activities of the club for the chosen charities of the year.
