2.  'Distant Host Counsellor' for Peace Scholar required

We have been asked if a Rotarian in District 1020 would consider being a 'Distant Host Counsellor' to a Peace Scholar studying at Bradford University in 2014-2015.

This would involve inviting the scholar to the Rotarian's home and club on a number of occasions.  This is a role not to be confused with Ambassadorial/Global Grant Scholars.

First come first served!
The District 1020 curling competition will take place from September 2014 to January 2015.

The Ramshead Curling Trophy Finals [Scottish Rotary Championship] will be on the 10th and 11th of March 2015 and the Jewel competition will also be on the 11th March. Both competitions will be at Perth, as usual.

We are very keen to get more clubs involved in the competitions.

  • The Rotary Club of Dalkeith has completed a year's trial of having one evening meeting a month
and is not continuing with this.
The Club will be returning to being solely a lunchtime club from 1 July 2014, meeting from 12.30 for 13.00 pm on Wednesdays.

Occasionally, an evening meeting may be held for a particular reason but this will be notified through the website.
  • The Rotary Club of Edinburgh Breakfast will be moving to a different location within St George's School for the summer.  Our temporary home will be the boarding house:
    Houldsworth House
    15 Ravelston Park
    Edinburgh
    EH4 3DX

Ravelston Park is off Ravelston Dykes, close to its junction with Belford Road.  It is a one-way street, running from Ravelston Dykes.  Houldsworth House is on the outside of the bend midway along the street.
We will be there for our meetings on Tuesdays from 1st JULY to 19th AUGUST, INCLUSIVE.

We return to our normal venue in Lansdowne House on 26th August.
