1. Presidential Citation: deadline for submission, 31st March 2014
Monday 31st March is the last day for submission of forms for the Presidential Citation.
Completed forms must be with District Governor Kate tomorrow.
2. District Training Assembly : Sunday 11th May 2014
This year the District Training Assembly is on Sunday 11th May at Inveralmond Community High School, Livingston, EH54 6HW.
All Rotarians are encouraged to attend this important event.
The Assembly will follow a similar format to last year with:

Breakout sessions from all District Service Committee Chairs, the District Secretary and District Treasurer

District Young Writer, Presentation of Awards : Saturday, 3rd May 2014
The presentation of awards and certificates to the winners of the District Young Writer Competition will take place at 2pm on Saturday 3 May at 2pm at Watersones, Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow.
All Clubs are welcome to attend but please let Bill McMullen know if you intend to be there.
4. District Quiz and Plate Competitions
Congratulations to the clubs who have reached the semi- finals stage of the Quiz and Plate.
The finals will be held on Sunday 18th May at the Shawlands Park Hotel, Larkhall (on the A71 just near Junction 8 on M74), with a 2 pm start.
The draw for the Semi Finals of both competitions has been made and is as follows

5. Georgia (USA) Rotary Student Programme : Autumn 2015
Five students from District 1020 were successful in achieving places on the Georgia Rotary Student Programme this September.
All Clubs are now invited to put forward Secondary School students to apply for this opportunity in autumn 2015.
To assist in this I have arranged for an Information Evening for interested students and Club representatives, as detailed below:

Time: 7pm (for 1 hour)
Venue: The Hillcroft Hotel, Whitburn
This is a very useful opportunity to come along and be able to meet returning students who can share their experiences as well as chat to other prospective candidates.

6. District Golf Championship : Wednesday, 20th August 2014
To all Sports Officers - the 2014 District Golf Championship, hosted by the Rotary Club of Dumfries, will be held at Southerness Golf Club on Wednesday 20th August 2014, with the tee reserved from 10.00 am.
Entries of teams of 4 from Clubs within District 1020, will be invited (by e-mail) in May 2014.
Team (best 3 scores to count) and individual competitions will be held.
