Music/dance evening with the Rythmn Thieves

Sat, Apr 12th 2014 at 8:00 pm - 11:00 pm

This was a music/dance evening at Leintwardine Community Centre with the Rythmn Thieves, a local "lively five-piece dancy folk-rock band" which was very enjoyable, as these events always are.

This was hoped to be one of our bigger fundraisers for the year but we were very disappointed with the turn out. We only managed about 40 people so made a loss on the evening. We had hoped raise money for the local charities we support including the Community Support groups, Community Centre, air ambulances amongst many others - you can see the charities we supported in 2012-13 at: http://www.rotar/y-ribi.org/clubs/page.php?PgID=377599&ClubID=931

HOWEVER those that came along had a great time. The music was high quality and perfect for the occasion and we were very impressed. Those that came danced all night, many staying until the band finished at 11pm. You can read about the Rythmn Thieves at http://www.rhythmthieves.co.uk and we would strongly recommend them for any event. We were also pleased to welcome three ladies from Madeley near Hereford ( they had seen our ad in Broad Sheep) and another couple also from Hereford ( they had seen our ad in the Hereford Times) which helped our numbers and it was great to see new faces. However we will not be repeating this sort of event again - shame but not the sort of thing people seem to want in our area......

Thank you to all that came and supported us, including many friends of Rotary members, and also to Kim for the bar, Sheila for general organisation, Ivan  for organising the evening, Cathy and Margaret on the door, and to other members who helped on the night. An enjoyable event for all who came......
