3. Primary School Quiz, 2013-2014

The District 1020 Primary School Quiz continues to go from strength to strength with over 35 Rotary Clubs, 225 schools and nearly 1,000 pupils involved last year.

Further information and paperwork for the 2013-14 Primary School Quiz is on the District website at Primary School Quiz.

Clubs should register their participation and complete the first round before the end of November.

If any help and support is required, especially for Rotary Clubs who are new to the venture, please do hesitate to contact me.

Looking forward to even more Rotary Clubs taking part.

Good Luck!

4. PDG Alasdair Seale : Tanzania project

PDG Alasdair Seale has volunteered to spend November/December in a rural area of Tanzania helping to renovate a hospital ward in Mwanza on Ukerewe island in Lake Victoria, Tanzania.

A container of materials is being shipped in advance of the project and a large van will leave Edinburgh on the 5th of September fully laden with as many items as can be crammed in!
Items required are :

  • Beekeeping equipment
  • Tools for tailors, farming groups, motor mechanics, potters, building tools, electrical equipment, plumbing equipment and medical equipment,
  • Light weight children's clothes
Any help you can give would be most appreciated. Contact Claire Mackie for a full list of items required.

18 volunteers (predominantly, but not exclusively, Rotarians) will be travelling to work alongside local partners and Rotarians. All of the items have either been requested by local Rotarians, or are required to  help the volunteer team complete the work.

I am happy to collect or receive any items
