 1. District Council Meeting, 2pm Sunday 8th September 2013

The next meeting of the District Council will be held at 2pm on Sunday 8th September at Peebles Hydro Hotel.

The following papers for the meeting are in the members' area of the District website:

  • Agenda
  • Minutes of the meeting of 7th April 2013
  • Financial Report and Budget comparison
  • Draft Standing Orders
  • Committee Reports

Please note that, after the business part of the meeting, delegates will be invited to take part in round table discussions.

There will be a Foundation Seminar at Peebles Hydro before the Council meeting from 12.30pm to 1.30pm.

The September issue of District Magazine 'Rotary for Tomorrow' will be available for collection after the Council Meeting.

Please ensure someone from your club is present to collect your magazines and any other papers. Should this not be possible, please arrange for a neighbouring club to collect them on your behalf.

2. Channel 4 documentary on polio, 8pm Monday 19th August
 
Paralympic basketball player, actor and broadcaster, Ade Adepitan, features in 'Journey of My Lifetime', a Channel 4 documentary at 8pm on Monday 19th August on polio and the impact the disease has had on his life.

3. Rotary Ramshead Curling Tournament



Entries are now requested for the Ramshead Trophy 2013-2014 and the District 1020 Curling Competition.  For details and the entry form click Ramshead Curling Tournament

Should your club be participating in this year's competition I would be grateful if you could complete the entry form and send it to me together with a cheque made out to Rotary District 1020 no later than Friday 30th August. The fee will be used for a variety of payments in respect of Rotary Curling at National level and for our 2013/14 District Curling commitments.

4. Food Plant Solutions Rotarian Action Group 

The Food Plant Solutions Rotarian Action Group  is seeking to involve Clubs around the globe in supporting a sustainable, self-reliant approach to preventing malnutrition.  

It is entirely up to individual Clubs to determine whether they wish to get involved.
