The Rotary Club of Southport Links and Dobbies Garden Centre have together given assistance to the residents of Southport's Spinal Unit Action Groups' residential house. The project was to organise the existing facility of a large greenhouse for use by the residents. Southport Links Rotary Club raised the planting beds either side of the greenhouse, using scaffoldong planks donated ny NSG Scaffolding of Southport, to enable the residents to have wheelchair access for sowing and planting. Jacqui Schober-Thomson, the Dobbies Community Champion, arranged to donate a wide range of equipment, compost and seeds which really gave a kick start to the project. The results of the sowing and planting have given the residents a real interest and social activity as well as helping out with fresh vegetables for their kitchen. Here Rotarians John Neale, David Landy and John Heddon, with Nigel Gilbert of NSG Scaffolding and Jacqui Schober-Thomson join Margaret Cheetham (SUAG Manager) and residents of SUAG, Jimmy Jones, Dave Partington annd Reg Hazel and president of the Rotary Club of Southport Links, Bill Thomas.
