Rotary Golfers ( and others!) lunch at Llangoed Hall

Wed, Dec 11th 2013 at 12:30 pm - 12:30 pm

The first of our Christmas meals, this year was at Llangoed Hall, near Hay on Wye, for a splendid lunch.

Every year the golfers in the Club celebrate Christmas and everyone is welcome to come along. As the third week is always a lunch, we felt it a good time to share the cheer at Llangoed Hall - a very good hotel 9 miles from Hay in the Brecon Beacons http://www.llangoedhall.co.uk/dining/ We were looking forward to a lovely afternoon together and we were not disappointed. We were offered a mulled wine on arrival which set the mood, as did the elegance of the hotel's setting and interior. Canapes were next while we stood near the roaring fire and chatted amongst ourselves. Once the last 6 renegades arrived ( getting to the Hotel via Builth Wells due to a closed bridge!) we moved into the dining room for a delightful meal of three courses. The food and service was excellent and included a palate cleanser after the starter, and coffee and mince pies at the end. There was discussion about the sprouts which were a bit undercooked for some of us but this did not spoil what was a very enjoyable afternoon in good company.......Thank you to David for chosing the location and Norman for getting us all sorted. Looking forward to the Stagg next week!
