Evening President's Night at the Clive Hotel, Ludlow.

Wed, Sep 5th 2012 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

The evening President Paul presided over a night of good food and good entertainment, starting at 7pm for 7.30pm meal.

It was a very enjoyable evening - good food, good service and great entertainment as always. The foam "door" to the kitchen worked too and no noise interfered with our enjoyment.

It was great to see so many guests - Peter and Eirlys, Peter and Mary, Gordon and Irene, Jean and Tony, Chris, Sylvie and Joan - and guests really do add to the night's enjoyment.

Carolyn ( who you can see with Sheila in one of the photos ) won the Richard Morgan Trophy
( judged by Eirlys and Peter Spawnton) for her recreation of a role as a magistrate,
passing judgement on various misbehaving Rotarians and guests. Very clever. Norman told
some more of his ( questionable? ) jokes, Ivan and Tony told a Sid and Burt joke, Ivan did a monologue from Stanley
Holloway, Cathy did a reading from the Wrinklies Armchair Companion ( yes she does consider
herself a wrinkly !) and Kevin played some delightful Swedish ballads on his accordian - if only we could sing in Swedish!
Paul then rounded off the night with a couple of shaggy dog stories before bringing the evening to a close.

Many thanks to Clive and Brian for their organisation of the event which went very smoothly. A memorable evening.
