Spell-bee

The Rotary Club of Kirkcudbright held their annual Spell-bee on the 17th of November 2011 at the Kirkcudbright Primary School. All the primary schools in the area were invited to send contestants and 25 brave pupils took on the Spelling Master; Gavin Scott, of the Rotary Club. The initial two rounds were a test of written words in which all excelled. The 100% pupils were Caitlin Innes, (Gatehouse) Anna Cooper (Borgue) and Rhys Mundell (Gatehouse). The third round of oral spelling saw Rhys triumph for the second year in a row. In the vote of thanks appreciation was shown for all the schools preparation and the hospitality of The Kirkcudbright Primary School and staff.
