The Invalid Children's Aid Association (Durham County)

A few notes on this small, worthwhile, local charity.

This is a very small local charity that does not have a website, so, since it was one of our chosen charities for the 2010 Swimathon and one that we regularly support, these notes, developed from the Annual Report, are here to provide basic information.  If any further information is required, please contact me via the enquiry form below.

The Invalid Children's Aid Association (Durham County)

Registered Charity No. 241405

This is a small, autonomous charity dedicated to the provision of financial assistance to needy children under the age of 18 and living in County Durham who are seriously ill or severely disabled.  Every year, the Association makes donations towards the cost of clothing, specialised equipment, bedding, decorating materials, toys and travelling expenses for numerous children.

All requests for assistance come from social workers, community nurses, special needs health visitors and other professional people working with ill or disabled children.  Most of the cases are from families on low incomes.  The Association tries, wherever possible, to help each  case referred to them and funds are used to purchase whatever is needed, to pass on to the affected families.

All members of the Association give their services voluntarily.  There are no expenses incurred - every penny donated goes to a child in desperate need of assistance.
