Among the special guests at this prestigious event were Billy Hardy - a former bantamweight and featherweight boxing chamption who started his boxing career at the Hylton Castle Club, and Tony Jeffries, an Olympic and Commonwealth Games boxing medallist and BBC North East Sports Personality of the Year.
