Rotary Young RYLA

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards are offered to young people to help them develop life skills.

Rotary Youth Leadership Awards are offered to young people with the objective for them to discover and develop life skills that will enable them to navigate their everyday lives and future careers.

Young RYLA is for those age 13-16 years who attend a two-and-a-half-day residential course held at Whitehall Outdoor Centre near The Peak District town of Buxton. Participants engage in challenging experiences such as rock climbing, canoeing and abseiling which not only build their personal confidence, but instil leadership principles, develop communication skills and showcase the benefits of working in teams.

Candidates on The Young RYLA courses sponsored by The Rotary Club of Lutterworth Wycliffe have all gained from their experiences with our 2024 candidate Lilie-Anna reporting:

“I really appreciate the opportunity to go, it was amazing and a great experience. I have gained in confidence in meeting new people and going to new places and learning new things. Thank you.”
