The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal 2023
This is the 20th year that Rotary Club of Beckenham has organised the Poppy Appeal in the borough on behalf of the Royal British Legion.
The club committee formed to organise this, sets up collections in schools, churches, local shops and supermarkets.
Club members and their partners all try and support the appeal, with some collecting over many shifts during the two weeks leading up to Remembrance Sunday.
This year and with the help of three neighbouring Rotary clubs, the collection was spread wider and the total collected increased by £22,000 to reach £91,000.
A wonderful contribution by the public in Beckenham and Bromley towards the welfare of service veterans and their families.
We thank all the volunteers who made this happen, including Rotarians from Langley Park, Bromley, Chislehurst and of course Beckenham.
