Prestwick Rotary Club President welcomes Fiona McFadzean

Last week the Rotary Club of Prestwick welcomed new member Fiona McFadzean to its fold. The picture shows Fiona being welcomed  by President Gregor Purdie.
 Fiona was born in Ayrshire and  brought up in Wigtownshire but knew Prestwick well, as she spent regular holidays there with her Granny and other family members.
 
Prior to marriage Fiona was a Civil Servant working throughout the country from London to Stornoway. She left to spend time as a wife and mother, taking an active part in the Girl Guide Association and Community Education. On returning to work, while living in Derbyshire, she entered into Secondary Education. The family returned to Ayr in the early nineties. 
 
Outside of work Fiona was a keen writer and Dramatist, working with Youth Theatre. Her stories and poems and articles have been published in anthologies and magazines.
Currently Fiona is a member of Ayr Writers’ Club and the Scottish Association of Writers. She writes and performs with the Burns Bachelors Club Performers and writes for the Group LiterEight.
