Lockerbie & District Charity Golf Day 2023

The annual Rotary Club of Lockerbie and Districts Annual Charity Golf Day, incorporating
the “Alan Bateman”, “Dr Walker” and Chic’s Putter Golf Trophies was held at Lockerbie Golf
Club on Monday 3 July.
President Alan Carmichael extended a warm welcome to everyone present with a special
thanks to the golfers taking part, Rotarians, past Rotarians, friends of rotary, together with
partners. He also thanked the golf club for allowing the Rotary Club the courtesy of the
course and on behalf of all the golfers commend the green keeper on the condition of the
course, having regard to the recent dry weather. A magnificent buffet meal was provided
by the caterer Marion Moffat, whilst the bar staff looked after the liquid needs of all
concerned which was greatly appreciated.
The prize winners on the day were as follows: -
The Alan Bateman Trophy - 1 st Sandy Stevenson (Lockerbie), 2 nd John Carpenter (Lockerbie),
3 rd Jimmy Clark (Lochmaben).
Dr Walker Trophy (Played for by Rotarians and Past Rotarians) – John Carpenter.
Chic’s Putter (Played for by members and former members of Lockerbie and District Rotary
Club – Blair Crossan.
Nearest the pin at the 18 th hole – David Rothwell (Powfoot).
